DCCS leader should emerge soon

The Dougherty County School Board is expected to name an interim superintendent this week.

Board members interviewed three finalists, former Sumter County superintendent Roy Brooks, former Glynn County superintendent David Mosley, and former Twiggs County superintendent Franklin Perry.

They're expected to vote to hire one of them during a special called meeting Wednesday morning.

CFO Kenneth Dyer has been the acting superintendent to ensure business carries on as usual.

Dr. Joshua Murfree left six months before his contract was up in a mutual agreement with the board.
