CAIRO, GA (WALB) -

A Cairo man is starting the new year off right with a lot of unexpected money in his pocket.

57-year old Terry Ferrell won $250,000 this week after winning the Fantasy Five drawing.

Ferrell bought the ticket at the One Convenient Stop on Highway 93 in Cairo.

Store owner Dixit Patel says this is the first big winner his store has ever had.

"A lot of people win small amounts like a $1,000 or $5,000, but this $250,000 is a big amount. I'm really glad."

Ferrell is one of two Georgians to win the jackpot.

The other winning ticket was sold in Austell.
