THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A former Lowe's employee is in jail accused of stealing thousands of dollar worth of merchandise from the store where she worked.

Police say 34-year old Amanda McDaniels made fraudulent transactions on about $3,600 worth of building equipment in December.

Police say the Thomasville store's surveillance cameras caught McDaniel's making at least four fraudulent purchases.

After managers witnessed the 4th incident, they called the police.

"Eventually the police department was called to do an investigation. After the investigation was complete, there was enough evidence to charge Ms. McDaniels with theft by deception by taking and making these fraudulent transactions," said Lt. Eric Hampton.

McDaniels was arrested in the store.

Bond was set at $1,000 for McDaniels, but she remains in the Thomas County Jail.
