ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Veteran WALB News anchor Dawn Hobby will deliver her final newscast this Friday as she prepares to become WALB News Director.

Hobby's promotion was announced last week, as was the promotion of current News Director Rick Williams.

Williams will become Vice President/General Manager at WLOX-TV in Biloxi, MS.

Williams, who's been News Director at WALB-TV for 22 years, will take the helm at WLOX January 14th, the same day Hobby will assume the role of News Director at WALB.

Hobby is an award-winning journalist, and in 2011, she received an EMMY from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for her work on a special report on the Gulf oil crisis.

Dawn Hobby and Ben Roberts became an anchor team 20 years ago.

A co-anchor for Roberts will be named in the coming weeks.
