Thieves hit multiple Walmarts, steal $10k worth of items

CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

Cordele police are on the lookout for two men they think stole $10,000 worth of merchandise from several Walmarts, including the one in Cordele.

$4,000 worth of big ticket items were swiped there.

Watch as this man loads up a buggy full of three desktop computers and makes his way out of the Walmart in Cordele.

"He selected the items and once he felt comfortable enough and had his getaway ride available, he exited out of one of the fire exits in the store," said Detective Ketorie Sales with the Cordele Police.

That's not all. Just days later the same guy steals a 50-inch TV and loads it into a waiting truck in the parking lot.

Detectives believe he's working with another man who may be the getaway driver and now say the pair have hit other Walmarts up and Down I-75, racking up on $10,000 worth of stolen items.

"He has hit the Perry Walmart, the Eastman Walmart and one in the Locus Grove Area," said Sales.

This isn't the first time the Cordele Walmart has seen thieves steal big ticket items.

In October we showed you video of a couple stealing $3,000 worth of tablets and cameras from the Cordele Walmart and walking right out of the door past greeters.  This video helped catch two suspects.

Detectives say the location of the Walmart may play a role in these thefts.

"It's a good location. It's right off of I-75, so anybody coming down that may have done this type of stuff before, may think, ‘ok, I can go inside this store and nobody will know me, I can do what I got to do and get back on the interstate and go'," said Sales.

Now Detective Sales hopes one specific clue can help get these two off the streets.

"Seems like he has something wrong with one of his legs quite possibly. It may be a limp. It's just something different about his walk. In all the videos he has on the same hat which is a University of Georgia fitted hat. A black hat with a white "G" on the front," said Sales.

Detective Sales says he doesn't believe those thieves are from Cordele but may live nearby. The two vehicles used in those crimes are a blue pickup truck, possibly a GMC Sierra or Chevy Silverado and a newer model white car that can't be identified just yet.

The two men you saw in that video are white and in their 20's or early 30's. One is about 6 feet tall while the other is around 5'6".
