ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Drug Enforcement Agency's Columbus office is participating in the investigation of a drug suspect arrested after he tossed a package of cocaine into the Flint River during a chase Wednesday afternoon in Albany.

That package contained more than a kilo of cocaine. Drug agents in an Albany Fire Department Rescue boat fished it out of the river.

We now know that the cocaine package was wrapped in plastic, and covered in bee's wax. This could be a new method of getting the illegal drug past drug-sniffing dogs at the U.S.- Mexico border.

Albany agents have video of the suspect, 43-year-old Gregory Tushin Greene of Albany, throwing the package out the window of his car as police pursued. WALB expects to show the footage today.

Greene was arrested at the East Oakridge bridge after the high speed chase. He is charged with trafficking in cocaine and over 20 traffic charges.

Green sped away when ADDU drug agents tried to stop the Dodge Challenger he was driving in the 1200 block of Moultrie Road.

Agents say Greene reached speeds of 85 miles an hour as they chased him across South east Albany.

Greene stopped his car on the bridge, jumped out, and threw the package into the river.

Drug agents are questioning Greene now. The cocaine has a street value of $120,000.
