ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Proud parents at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital rang in the New Year with a new baby Monday.

Kyleigh Marie Harrell was the first New Year's baby born in Albany at 4:58 Tuesday morning.

Mother, Jonna Harrrell, was in labor for 25 hours before Kyleigh finally arrived.

Her parents say she came 5 days early and they couldn't be more happy that she's finally here.

"I'm really excited and I'm still kind of like is she really mine," said Jonna Harrell , New Mother.

"I'd be just as happy on any other day but it is a unique day," said William Harrell, New Father.

William Harrell is heading to basic training in South Carolina on February 26th. He says he's happy to spend time with his new family before he leaves.
