VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -
Three car crash victims are still recovering in the hospital tonight after a car accident left one dead on I-75 Sunday night.
We now know who those victims are, 16-year-old Dale Brady, 16-year-old Shelby Willis, and her 9-year-old sister Gena Willis, were driving with 22-year-old Jake Daughtrey around 6 p.m. Sunday when Daughtrey's Jeep Grand Cherokee ran off the road.
GSP investigators say the vehicle crossed the north bound lane and rolled over multiple times before it crashed into a concrete wall. Daughtrey was ejected from the drivers seat and died at the scene. Troopers say the group were on their way home to Adel from a day a Wild Adventures.
"We'd like to be able to determine exactly what caused the crash, what caused him to run off the roadway. Some of that may be able to be obtained from the occupants in the vehicle once they recover to a stage we can interview them," said Sgt. Carl Taylor, GSP Valdosta Post.
The other three passengers are expected to survive. They are recovering at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. Troopers say it is not clear if the other three were also ejected from the Jeep. The investigation will begin after the holiday traffic calms down either tomorrow or the day after.
