An East Albany grocery store is burglarized for the second time in less than a week, and this time the crook stole an old rifle.
Someone pried open the front door of the Rubo's Grocery Store on East Clark Avenue about 3:30 Monday morning.
That same store was broken into the same way on Christmas Morning about 4 AM. The owner, William Phillips, thinks it's the same person behind both burglaries.
The alarm was activated at the store, but the burglar apparently ransacked the store front and the office in less than a minute, and then ran. They stole cigarettes, some coins, and what Phillips described as an old rusted up .22 caliber rifle that had been in the store for decades. Police found cigarettes and coins scattered inside and outside the store where the crook dropped them while running away.
