THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Folks in Thomasville are hoping a team weight loss competition keeps them on track with their resolutions.

The YMCA's 10 week Team Lean kicks off this Saturday with the first weekly weigh in.

The four or five member teams that lose the highest percentages of weight will be awarded cash prizes.

"Since the program began in 2007, there has been over $125,000 in cash prizes awarded out through Team Lean and over 60,000 collective pounds lost as well. So it's been a real motivating force in this community," said T'ville YMCA CEO Tom Everett.

All participants must be 14 or older.

Registration is $50 a person and continues through January 10th.
