For a lot of people New Year's Day is full of long time family traditions including must-eat foods for a prosperous 20-13.
Greens for money and black-eyed-peas for luck are just a few of the dishes many families make to forget the past and look forward to a new year. Some folks here in southwest Georgia say they're leaving it up to fate this year.
"Greens as you know, everybody eats greens, neck bone, macaroni, greens, you know just a whole bunch of soul food," says Cshonqueta Seay.
"Black-eyed peas, cabbage, neck bones, and it's for good luck," says Latoya Davidson.
Local grocery stores say if you haven't picked up those last minute items, tomorrow might be your last chance before the new year.
