ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A lot of South Georgians are buying fireworks for their New Year's celebrations.

Friday evening, we visited the Target on Dawson Road.

They have a display of fireworks set up.

One manager tells us sales have been slow so far, but he expects them to pick up this weekend.

"I think the closer we get to new years, everybody wants to have some type of fireworks or wants to see some type of fireworks show, so they'll come and buy their own and they'll get it from us a lot of times," said Target Sales Manager Dion Hale.

Fire Officials are urging caution while using fireworks.
