COLQUITT COUNTY, GA (WALB) -
A Colquitt County man is accused of stealing a truck from his former employer used to haul cotton bales. Investigators say 38-year old Robert Hill stole a module truck used to haul cotton bales.
It belonged to BCT Gin Company in Berlin where Hill worked until about a year ago. Deputies arrested Hill yesterday after they found the truck deep in the woods in Echols County.
"According to the officials over in Echols County, it was way in the woods, mu understanding is it took several hours to even get it out of the woods,get a tow truck to take it to a secure location," says Investigator Michael Murfin, Colquitt County Sheriff's Office.
Hill is charged with felony theft by taking motor vehicle. He has a previous criminal record including charges of arson, theft by taking charges, and entering a vehicle.
