LOWNDES COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

A Christmas Day church fire in Lowndes County is being investigated as a possible arson.

Firefighters responded to the Ousley Temple Church of God in Christ on Ousley Road at 1:30 yesterday morning.

When they got there, the building was engulfed in flames.

The fire chief says an initial report will be completed tomorrow. But Sheriff Chris Prine says an arson investigation is underway.
