ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Employees at the Wynnsong 16 in Albany were busy on Christmas night.

It's a tradition for many folks to take in a movie during the holidays.

The parking lot was packed, and the lines at the box office were long as folks came out to enjoy a flick with family and friends.

"We're going to see a movie on Christmas because of family time," says movie-goer Eli Bridges.

"It's kind of a tradition for me. I usually come to the movies on Christmas Day," says Stephanie Roberts.

"I've never been on Christmas before so this is a new one for me but it's pretty packed so I'm pretty excited about that," says Lauren Stotler.

Some of the most popular movies on Christmas included Les Miserables, Parental Guidance, and The Hobbit.

    One woman is raising awareness for premature babies. Patricia Sharpe donated dozens of red hats to be given to babies delivered at South Georgia Medical Center.

    A Tifton man is going to federal prison for 12 years after a woman was found dead in his room, in 2015.  Bobby Earl Grantham, Jr., 49, of Tifton, had already pled guilty.
