ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
An Albany group is helping those in need enjoy Christmas by providing a warm meal.
The Albany Rescue mission fed about 80 people Tuesday during their annual Christmas meal.
Volunteers say it's a way to give back to the community, which is especially important during the holidays.
"It's important to me because there are a lot of people out there that are less fortunate than I. So pretty much, what better way to give back than doing something like this," said Shawn Stinson, Volunteer.
The Albany Rescue mission usually serves about 7,000 meals a month.
The annual New Year's meals are scheduled for the Monday, December 31st and Tuesday, January 1st.
