Family uses Christmas lights to thank first responders

Posted: Updated:

A south Georgia family said a Christmas "thank you" to first responders Friday night.

The Clay family decorates their Story Lane home in Lee County with more than 60,000 lights, all synchronized to music.

Friday night, they invited law enforcers, firefighters, and EMTs to bring their families out to see the show and enjoy free cookies and drinks. Gina Clay said, "Well, if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have any protection. We wouldn't have people to put a fire out in our house or help us when we have an accident. They're right up there with the military, so you have to have them. We're just really thankful we have them in our community."

Santa and Mrs. Claus were there tonight as well.

The lights will be up through New Year's Day.
