ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany Church is helping feed dozens of families for the holidays.

Members of Greater Cutliff Grove Missionary Baptist Church teamed up with Second Harvest of South Georgia to distribute 11,000 pounds of food to hungry families, Friday, just in time for Christmas.

"We at the food bank understand that hunger is year round, it's not a holiday. During the holidays, that's when most people are with their families or trying to be with their family and we're trying to help families have something for the holiday," said Second Harvest Branch Director Jim Case.

The food giveaway continues Saturday.

It gets started at 8 am at the church on West Broad Avenue.
