ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Investigators say a Dougherty County teenager stabbed her father to make him stop beating her step-mother. 

36-year-old Samuel Williams Jr. is charged with battery and simple battery.      

Dougherty County police say about11:30 Thursday night Williams and his wife Jeneka were fighting at their Sylvester Road mobile home when his 16-year-old daughter stabbed him with a steak knife in the lower back to protect her step mother.  

Williams was released from jail on bond. The girl wasn't charged.
