Valdosta police search for Bank of America robbers

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

The Bank of America on Baytree Road in Valdosta was robbed Thursday morning by two masked African American men armed with hand guns.

The Lowndes "911" Center received calls around 9:05 a.m.  Upon arrival officers were told that two African American males entered the bank armed with handguns with their faces covered and demanded money.

They robbers left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and got into a blue Jeep Cherokee.

Valdosta Police Department Detectives and the Valdosta-Lowndes Crime Lab Crime Scene Technicians are investigating.

Detectives may believe that the suspects may have switched vehicles nearby to an older model Chevrolet Suburban.

The FBI has been notified to help with the investigation.
