ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County economic developers plan to construct a building they hope will attract jobs.

The Albany Dougherty Economic Development Commission is in the early stages of planning a new speculative building.

Companies could look at it to see if they want to open a facility there.

"We've had some properties recently that people have moved into so we need to start thinking about coming up with another building that we can have available for prospects coming into town to look at and hopefully attract them to Albany," said Jay Smith of the EDC.

Officials are still working out the details, including where the spec building will be located.

They're considering several different pieces of property.
