ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Albany city commissioners decide to hold off on giving money for a sales tax-funded project at Albany Technical College because of the growing cost of the project.
Albany Tech asked for an extra $800,000 in SPLOST money for a pedestrian bridge that would pass over Slappey Boulevard; essentially doubling the initial estimate for the project.
Tuesday night, Commissioners decided to wait for a more concrete budget for the bridge before they hand out any more money.
They did approve an extra $100,000 for an archive facility at Thronateeska.
