ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany 911 dispatchers make it a warm, Merry Christmas for some Dougherty County elementary school students.

Gift bags filled with hats, gloves, and socks from the dispatchers were given to 32 students at Martin Luther King Elementary.

911 Supervisor Wylene Rowe said she got the idea when taking her own children to school.

"I would see the children walking without gloves, or hats, or whatever.  So I decided OK what could I do to contribute to the community or make a child's Christmas better," said Socks and Gloves Gift Organizer Wylene Rowe.

Rowe and her Team One dispatchers at the Albany 911 Center raised the money to buy the warm gifts for the students.
