Albany Police just announced they have dropped all charges against two young men who were accused of shooting a guest at Merry Acres Motel over Thanksgiving weekend.

Investigators say they dismissed warrants against 21 year-old Sydney Kerlegon and 19 year-old Travin Bryant "after obtaining new information regarding the incident."

Bryant has been released and Kerlegon remains in the Dougherty County Jail on charges unrelated to the Merry Acres incident.

Detectives say the shooting remains part of an ongoing investigation of several armed robberies.

41 year-old Thomas Bennet survived the Merry Acres shooting. He was shot through a window with a shotgun after leaving his room to get ice on November 23.
