ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
A 19-month child is being treated for serious injuries after a three-car crash near the Tift - Irwin County line.
A helicopter landed in the middle of highway 319 to airlift the child to a hospital, and traffic was backed up in both directions.
Troopers say a driver failed to yield while turning onto highway 319 from Wiley Branch Road around noon and hit a Chevrolet Silverado. A van then hit the Silverado.
A 24 year old and the 19 month old were ejected from the van. The child was airlifted to a hospital in Macon. The adult was taken to Tift Regional.
The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was also injured.
The driver of the Lincoln continental was not injured. They were charged with failure to yield.
