ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Lines were wrapped around the building at St. Clares Center off Martin Luther King Boulevard this morning.
Folks came from all over Albany to get a free Christmas meal.
The center has a special full-course lunch every year around this time.
Our very own Yolanda Amadeo stopped by to lend a helping hand.
Organizers say people need all the help they can get these days.
"With the economy, they are out of work, they don't have the funds. And they always come here because they know we help them not just Christmas Day because feeding them just Christmas day, they are going to be hungry next week," says Sister Maura Mollay with St. Clare's.
St. Clare's opens their soup kitchen Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for lunch.
