ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A Georgia man wants you to give goat meat a try.

David Martin from Stockbridge used the expertise he gained as President of sausage company Home Style Foods to create Gotcha Goat.

The Fort Valley State University's Meat Technology Center now has a partnership the company.

Gotcha Goat products are now on the shelves in about 80 Kroger stores, mostly in north and central Georgia.

"Goat is the most widely eaten meat in the world, it is the most nutritious red meat, less cholesterol, less fat than beef, pork, lamb, and chicken," says David Martin, Gotcha Goat CEO/Pres.

Martin was selected to serve on the first steering committee for the Georgia Food Policy Council.

Their first meeting is Wednesday.
