Kenneth Dyer, the school system CFO will be put in place until an interim superintendent is named to replace Dr. Joshua Murfree, whose term ends tomorrow.
Dyer's tenure begins Effective December 19th. He's being called the acting superintendent.
Dougherty County school board member Carol Tharin requested legal guidelines for choosing an interim.
The Georgia School Board Association gave board members a list of potential temporary replacements.
If the board narrows down their list of choices to three or less the law says they must advertise those names for 14 days before they vote.
