ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
A handful of civilian Marines returned home to Albany, Friday night, after spending more than a year in Afghanistan.
Six Department of Defense workers got a warm reception from loved ones when they arrived at Southwest Georgia Regional Airport.
They spent 15 months in Afghanistan and Kuwait.
One civilian Marine told us he's thrilled to be back to what he calls a normal life.
"The everyday life, it's back to normal. My own shower, sleeping in my own bed, my wife of course, my dog. Just everyday normal life," said Shawn Lucas.
While overseas, the workers inspected trucks used in combat and other government vehicles.
