THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Hundreds of children will have a merry Christmas thanks to toy deliveries Friday in the Thomasville area.

The Georgia State Patrol and other volunteers helped unload the thousands of Toys for Tots at the Salvation Army today.

Auxiliary Captains Genny and Stan Robinson say donations have been down across the board this year, so this big delivery was certainly needed.

"There's 500 families, any number of children, that all this goes to help. Seniors alike. This is a community wide effort so it's not just for one certain group. It's for everyone who needs Christmas in Thomasville."

All of the gifts will be distributed next Saturday.

To volunteer for the delivery, call the Salvation Army at 226-3772.
