Monroe High participates in anti-bullying summit

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Monroe High students gave their fellow students a lesson in what bullying is, and how to cope with it.

Monroe High's student body attended an anti bullying summit Thursday morning in their auditorium.  Students put on skits and gave informative talks, saying that bullying goes on in every school.

One of the lessons, what bullying is and also how to find help.

"Some people are afraid to admit they are being bullied or they are the bully. Because something may happen to them. If they are the victim they don't want to be bullied more because they are telling," said BreAnna Taylor, Monroe High Sophomore

"It's just so everyone will know that bullying is a problem and makes everyone aware of what it is. And so that we all know that it is wrong," said Chavi Simmons, Monroe High Junior

As part of their safe and drug free schools program, an anti-bullying summit like this will be performed in every Dougherty County school system middle and high school.
