ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Junior League of Albany donated holiday gifts to the Court Appointed Special Advocates foundation Tuesday night.

CASA provides neglected and abused children involved in juvenile court proceedings with a safe home.

Organizers say while the gifts are important, what the children need most can't be found under the tree. Junior League Coordinator Dr. Sara Nisinger said, "Ultimately, our goal is for them to be with a caring loving set of parents, but until we're able to find such loving and caring and supportive parents you know we want to provide them with things that make them feel extra special."

Each year, the Junior League chooses a local organization as its signature project. This year, it's the Lily Pad, an umbrella organization serving abuse victims that includes CASA.
