ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Before Tuesday night's Fall Commencement at Darton State College, there were two pinning ceremonies on campus for graduates in the allied health and nursing programs.
The nursing class was the largest at the graduation ceremony with 182 new graduates who will help with Georgia's nursing shortage.
Darton Dean of Nursing said, "We still need nurses all over the state and our students come from all over the state, so as a nurse, I welcome them to the profession and look forward to one day when they take my place, and I can retire."
In all this year, Darton has graduated 344 nursing students, and the college just began its 4-year nursing degree program.
