Dougherty County teachers won't get a new Teacher Academy.
Board members deadlocked 3 to 3 on the proposal, Monday night. Dr. Anita Williams-Brown was not at the meeting.
The Academy would provide on-site professional learning opportunities and support for teachers.
Advocates say it would create better teachers in ever-evolving classrooms.
"We all know the main ingredient that makes a difference in the learning with a child is that classroom teacher and if our teacher's are trained better then our children can be educated better," said Dr. Jewel Faison
Faison say she's disappointed in the vote, but will keep pushing to implement the program.
