A driver ran from the scene of a crash in northwest Albany Monday night.

A Toyota Tacoma ended up on its side in a yard on Whispering Pines Road about 8:30. The driver lost control and jumped the curb near Groveland Road and took out a stop sign and street sign.

He asked neighbors to try to help him flip the truck right-side up so he could drive away. When they refused, he ran away.

State troopers are investigating. They know who the driver is because his family showed up at the scene, but at last report, the man had not been caught.
