TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Folks in Tifton had the chance to enjoy the historic side of Christmas Saturday.

The Georgia Museum of Agriculture held their Wiregrass Christmas day throughout the historic village of the museum.

People were able to sample Victorian desserts, taste some of South Georgia's finest homemade syrup, and tour the village.

Organizers say it was the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season.

"It's not just for little kids. It's for all ages and it's a beautiful day to be outside so why not enjoy it at the museum and listen to some great music, have some great food and learn a little something about southwest Georgia history," said Garrett Boone, Organizer.

The museum will have a North Pole express with a special visit from Santa on Friday and Saturday from 5 to 8 o'clock.
