Westover freshmen commit to stay in school

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Westover High School freshman make a commitment to stay in school.

Hundreds of freshman gathered in the auditorium to make a commitment to graduate in four years.

The class of 2016 took a pledge to stay motivated to finish high school.

They committed to achieving their goals by studying hard and going to school.

"You have to have a plan, and also in case things don't work out exactly how you planned it to, you should also have something as a backup, something you can fall back on, just talking to them on making critical decisions," said Charles Benford, Mr. Royal Gentleman ASU.

Students all made a pledge to graduate and signed a graduation robe to seal the commitment.

This is the 4th year that Westover High School has held a graduation motivation ceremony for 9th graders.
