TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Georgia Trend names TRMC a Top 10 Georgia hospital Georgia Trend magazine named Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) a top 10 Georgia hospital in its December issue.

A special section of the magazine ranked facilities from around the state based on quality data. The listings include 72 different hospitals throughout Georgia, divided into five separate categories.

TRMC was ranked number seven in the medium-sized hospital category. The rankings were compiled by using publicly available information from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on quality of care, patient satisfaction, mortality, re-admission statistics and hospital-acquired infection data.

"We are pleased to be in the top 10, but won't be satisfied until we are number one, and even then, we will not rest," said William T. Richardson, TRMC president/CEO. "Quality care is an ongoing journey that never ends."

Richardson said the top 10 distinction would not be possible without the dedication of physicians, nurses, therapists, technicians and other support staff.

"It's not just about facilities and technology, it's our people who come together each and every day as a team to make it work," said Richardson. "They are dedicated to delivering topnotch medical services with the utmost courtesy and compassion."

TRMC is a 191-bed regional referral center offering services in surgery, cancer treatment, cardiovascular care, women's health, neurodiagnostics, medical imaging and more. The hospital's Main Campus and West Campus are each located in Tifton.

Cook Medical Center, also a TRMC campus, is located in Adel. In addition, TRMC has outreach clinics and satellite services in Tifton, Sylvester, Adel, Nashville, Ocilla, Abbeville and Ashburn.
