Wreck causes hydraulic spill on So. Westover

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Police responded to a wreck on South Westover just before 8:00am.

APD says that Robert Gillion, age 23, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu and Marcus Justice, 53 from Tifton, was driving a Reeves Construction Truck north on South Westover Road.

Gillion ran off the road, and tried to correct when he struck a hydraulic tank which ruptured and caused a spill on the road.

A second truck hit his brakes to avoid the collision. Those involved in the wreck were seen by EMS examined the drivers at the scene. No injuries were reported and charges are pending.

Due to the hydraulic spill, the north bound inside lane of between Old Jim Davis Road and West Gordon Avenue will be closed for up to 48 hours to complete the cleanup.

Barricades will be in place so drivers need to take precautions when driving in the area or plan an alternate route.
