ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

South Georgia veterans and their families are being urged to attend the "Supermarket of Veterans Benefits" Wednesday at the Albany Civic Center.

Tuesday Georgia Department of Veterans Services and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs set up for Wednesday's benefits program. Vets and their dependents can sit down face to face with state and federal officials to ask questions about their eligibility for veterans benefits.

"Any veteran that hasn't applied for a benefit, we want them to come," said Georgia Department of Veterans South Georgia Regional Director Craig Couturier.  "Because there is nothing I like more personally than is getting money from the federal government for veterans."

Widows of veterans are also urged to attend the Supermarket of Veterans Benefits Wednesday, from 10AM until 3PM at the Albany Civic Center. A health fair with free medical screenings and flu shots will also be available.
