ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A kitchen which will be used to cook thousands of meals for hungry South Georgia children is being installed.

The Second Harvest of South Georgia is installing their kids cafe kitchen in their Albany warehouse, hoping to improve their education and life.

The kitchen is part of a $200,000 investment by the Food Bank to take part in the Kids Cafe national program under Feeding America.

The kitchen will be designed to cook and produce 5000 meals a day, to be delivered to kids in after school and social programs across South Georgia.

To provide a healthy meal for kids so that they do homework. That they can enjoy programs after school and stay in school. The main thing we are trying to accomplish here is to get these kids graduated and get them out into the workforce.>

The kitchen will employ at least four people, and should be producing meals for kids in more than 50 centers in the next six months.
