VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

If you take a drive though Valdosta's historic downtown, you'll see many of the store windows decked with holiday decorations.

These stores are competing in Valdosta's Main Street window decorating competition. The winner was announced at Saturday's parade and the Flower Gallery took home first place.

Owner Susan Mullis says it's a task that takes a lot of time and creativity but it's all worth it when people stop by to peer in the windows.

"We were just tickled to death. We look forward to decorating our windows every year. Everybody comes downtown and they say, 'What are you going to put in your windows this year?' so we get real excited every year when we're deciding what to put in our windows," said Flower gallery owner, Susan Mullis.

Jessie's Eats and Treats received second place, and City Market took home third.
