ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Folks enjoyed a performance of a holiday classic Sunday in Albany.

Sunday was the last performance of The Nutcracker at the Albany Municipal Auditorium.

Ballet Theatre South is a non-profit organization that puts on the ballet every other year in Albany.

The performance includes several professional dancers and 47 local dancers from children as young as eight to adults.

"You don't see it very often in south west Georgia, it is rare, and it is different than just a regular dance recital, lots of these boys and girls dance in town, but Ballet Theatre South presents a full length production it tells the whole story, so it gives these kids the chance to not only dance, but to act, and storytell," said Zane Twiggs.

The Nutcracker will be back in Albany December 2014.
