ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Residents of Palmyra Nursing Home kicked off the Christmas season Saturday with some holiday songs.

The First Free Will Baptist Church brought a youth group over to the nursing home to sing Christmas songs to all of the residents.

They gathered around as children and teenagers sang a variety of songs, played musical instruments and even performed Christmas skits.

"Our goal is to live as if the Christmas season is every day in our hearts, but especially this time of year it is of great importance to us to reach others and talk to others about the love of Christ," said Rebekah Summerell, the youth director.

Organizers say this was an opportunity for the youth group to give back to the elderly who have given so much to the city of Albany.
