Leesburg holds Spirit of Christmas parade and festival

LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

Lee County also got into some of the holiday action this morning during their Christmas Parade.

Early Saturday morning the streets were packed in Downtown Leesburg for their 24th annual Christmas Parade.

Over 100 floats made their way down Main Street in Leesburg, many of them throwing candy to spectators.

A number of Lee County businesses, schools, and civic organizations were represented.

"It just brings everybody closer together, a lot of these folks, we all stay so busy, you only get to see each other about this time of year, it is just wonderful and to see the kids and their excitement when they see Santa, "Kurt Baker, Announcer.

After the parade was over, the community gathered for a festival filled with food vendors and activities for the kids.
