ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia health officials plan to host a HIV and AIDS Twitter chat to mark World AIDS Day.

The hour-long chat will use the hash tag "(hash)GeorgiaWAD2012" and is set to start at noon Saturday.

Discussion topics are set to include new HIV and AIDS numbers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the AIDS epidemic in Georgia, and what is being done to fight the spread of HIV in the state. There will also be information about HIV testing and AIDS treatment and prevention.

The CDC recently awarded the Georgia Department of Public Health $2.5 million to help get HIV-positive people to seek treatment.
