ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
People enjoyed a performance of a holiday classic Friday in Albany.
Friday was the opening night of The Nutcracker at the Albany Municipal Auditorium.
Ballet Theatre South is a non-profit organization that puts on the ballet every other year in Albany.
The performance includes several professional dancers and 47 local dancers from children as young as eight to adults.
"Its ballet and ballet is such a beautiful art and you don't see it too often in this area. We're delighted to present a professional quality show. We're using local dancers and we have trained, professional dancers from out of town, so it's great for the kids to get to dance with them and it's great for the community to see that great level of training," said Zan Twiggs, Organizer.
There will be performances Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
