ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany State University student leader was memorialized on campus Wednesday night.

The Student Government Association held a candlelight vigil to honor 23-year-old Mariah Myers.

The graduate student was killed in a car crash in McIntosh County. Other students say she left an important legacy on campus.

"Mariah was always a happy person. Every time I saw Mariah she had a smile on her face. I didn't matter if it was raining, she would always be smiling. She would come up to people and be very cordial," said Dorian Gunter, SGA Vice President.

Myers worked on campus and at a daycare. She was involved in numerous campus groups including the ASU Gospel Choir, Habitat for Humanity and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
