LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

A Lee County farm worker made a horrifying discovery while mowing a hayfield-- the body of a teenager hanging from a tree.

The man was cutting a field off Highway 195 north of Leesburg about one o'clock when he spotted the body.

Lee County Sheriff's Investigators determined 18-year-old Vaughn Lewis committed suicide, using an extension cord to hang himself.

Investigators say Lewis left his house yesterday after an argument with his father and wasn't seen again until his body was discovered.

"It's really close to his house. It's about 200 yards behind his house right there on a field road. And it's probably an area he's real familiar with," said Lee Co. Sheriff's Chief Deputy Lewis Harris

The Lee County Coroner and Department of Natural Resources rangers also investigated the death.
