Wednesday, Mia Register went before a judge and pleaded guilty to DUI, serious injury by vehicle, endangering a child, and leaving the scene of an accident.
She was sentenced to one year in jail and nine years of probation.
Register hit Jeffrey Haire as he rode his bicycle on Old Leesburg Road in March 2011.
Her 7 year-old son was in the car with her.
Haire suffered a broken leg and back injuries. During the plea hearing Haire told the judge it took him a year to get his life back to some sort of normalcy and he believes the sentence is fair.
Register must also pay him $10,000 for damages.
